This was our first trip to Costa Rica – and definitely won’t be our last! We stayed one week at the townhouse with some friends and it was awesome! The photos of the townhouse listed do not do it justice; it is much more impressive in person. The location is fantastic and the view of the ocean from the infinity pool is breathtaking. Two beaches, Playa Penca and Playa Prieta, are a short walk from the townhouse; both are secluded and were not crowded at all during our stay. We also worked with Special Places to book a sailing tour, zip lining, and surf lessons at Playa Grande, a nearby beach. The folks at Special Places were extremely helpful, made recommendations on what we should do and on what days and set everything up for us. When we arrived they took us to the house, showed us around, and made sure we were comfortable. Over the week we ate at several local restaurants including Sol y Mar, Maxwell’s Café, Las Brisas, Happy Snapper, and The Castle. All had great food! Susan was very helpful throughout the trip planning process. She made recommendations on things to do and provided us with driving directions, maps to the restaurants/bars and grocery stores.
We can’t wait to go back!

"My family enjoyed a wonderful week at Villa Catalina in November 2010. Villa Catalina is beautifully maintained, inside and out. Each of the 4 spacious bedrooms had its own full bathroom and balcony/outdoor sitting area. The kitchen was gorgeous and fully stocked - granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, large island with additional seating and fully stocked w/ tools. The dining/kitchen area is very open and conducive to a festive atmosphere while cooking and eating. All of the little touches, like providing bath/pool towels, pool "toys," dish soap, laundry detergent, etc. made everything so convenient, too. It was such a relief to not have to pack or buy that stuff when we arrived. We thoroughly enjoyed amenities like the private pool, access to the golf course, daily maid/landscaping service, free shuttle rides from the villa to the Beach Club, gated security, in-house laundry room, etc.
We also took advantage of the Reserva's chef service and had two of their chefs prepare a delicious seafood feast in the villa for us one night - and they cleaned up, too! The owners and property managers also went out of their way to make our stay extra comfortable and special. I had my 14-month-old daughter w/ us, so we had a few special things we needed just for her - highchair, crib and milk. The owners made sure that the crib and highchair were set up at the villa when we arrived - they even had baby sheets that fit perfectly so we didn't have to bring them, and the maid even made up her little crib with new sheets each day! Milk was my big concern, and the property manager took the time to make a personal trip to a nearby market to stock the fridge w/ a week's worth of organic soy milk for us before we arrived.
Reserva Conchal is a very short distance to Brasilito - quick cab ride, or about a mile (adventurous) walk. We enjoyed some beach time and several lunches/dinners there. It is about a 15-20 minute cab ride to Tamarindo, where you'll find more shops and restaurants. Tamarindo is also great for those interested in surfing/paddle-boarding - you can rent there. The Reserva was also very willing to arrange excursions - we did a canopy tour and horseback riding. The nice thing about Villa Catalina is that you can really make your vacation as laid back or as adventurous as you want. It was a truly beautiful home in a majestic setting. I hope to have the opportunity to visit again someday!"

Thank you Sharon for helping us with our all needs during our stay last week and the week prior in Costa Rica.
Please also pass along my thanks to Rebecca who I dealt with when I initially booked the condo.
Costa Rica was such a beautiful place to visit and tour – and the people so friendly. The memories will last forever for our family.
The endless beach condos were exactly what I expected and the other renters/owners were nice to talk to occasionally.
I especially enjoyed the maintenance fellow at the condo. Although we couldn’t communicate with him because of the language difference, you could tell he loved his job and is deeply committed to what he does. He is a wonderful asset to the place, always had a smile on his face and said hello.
Thank you again and take care. |

Hi Sharon , wanted to let you know how much my family and I enjoyed our vacation at Casa CopaCabana. It was a amazing house and loved the outside living area and beach. Mercedes and David were fantastic to have around and felt like part of the family. I also want to thank you again for all your help, I love your Costa Rica and will be back again. |

Well we are back from paradise and into the cool snowy climate now. Reality!
Thank you so very much once again for your warmth and generosity ... thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your condo. It is lovely, the setting is beautiful and we found the location to be very very nice. Flamingo is very nice and it was easy to go over to Tamarindo Bay as well.
Your suggestions were helpful as well as those of Special Places. Although Angelinas and Mar y Sol were closed, we had no problem finding some new haunts.
We highly recommend Carlos n Carlos just down the road on the way to Brazilito. It is a new Italian fine dining, they have a restaurant in Chicago also and it was very very good and very nice people.
The other one is Lola's on Avelennas Beach just on the other side of the Marriott at Hacienda Pinellas. Lolas, if you have not been there is a wonderful outdoor beach restaurant, fabulous food and wonderful atmosphere. We spent an entire afternoon there.
Another must is to have Miguel, the chef, come and make dinner for you at your condo. He was recommended by Sharon at Special Places and he and his son did a fabulous job---
a wonderful seafood dinner, lovely salad and bananas flambe.
We golfed one of the days at Hacienda Pinellas (Marriott) and that was beautiful.
Jimmy at Special Places is a peach - he is a great maintenance person - and very accomodating. Sharon is a fabulous activities/entertainment person. She gave great ideas to us, made some great accomodations and was just a delight.
Thank you - it was very fun and your condo is very warm and beautiful. We would recommend it anytime. Take care and enjoy your time there. |

Hello!
I feel a little silly writing this after SO much time has passed but I do want you to know how much my friends and I appreciated all of the help you provided to us when we stayed at Casa Thu in February. We had such a wonderful week and the Casa was perfect for our needs! When we had some last minute changes on the last day when our friends missed their flight, you guys went above and beyond in a highly stressful time and I know the entire house appreciated all of your efforts.
I have highly recommended your company to friends travelling to Costa Rica and would go back and stay again in a heart beat if given the chance!
Thanks again and I hope you have a great summer,

Wow you guys...this was the best trip many of us have been on. We have ridiculous amounts of pictures should you want to see them or use them for your usage...I will not send unless of interest... But promise me, should I want to come back, I get first dibs. I already discussed with my parents and they are interested in potentially renting in the future....but our group of 7 really loved this...
OK...so here are the highlights..(in no particular order..)
Jennifer and Sharon..amazing. You guys always had your eye on us and it gave us a level of comfort we didn't even know we needed
Becky.you certainly directed us the right was in choosing this house!
Michael....we envy you...but wonder why you ever leave (though we did appreciate that you did this time)!!!
The house was to die for...mornings at the pool..afternoons out exploring..sunsets on the roof...(I write this as I sit in 20 degree weather)
Mar Y Sol was great for new years...we also cocktailed there one night and met waiter Juan who was great.
Angelina's...and Yellowfin..the boys of our house checked out Yellowfin the first afternoon and feel in love with it and Julia Stiles...thankfully she was taken or I may have lost my boyfriend to her..we went back to Angelinas one other night and Joe (Cookie!) was great to us and led us right with some margaritas and tuna sliders...
Chefs James and Miguel...so good...they were perfect...
Jennifer and Sharon.thanks for hooking us up with the local fiesta....sorry we missed you there but we loved it..
The ATV and Zip line tour was great.nice to be with just our group and the ATVs (for most of us) were a blast..
Car was a good move..we used a bunch.went to Tamarindo, Brasalito, Playa Grande, Potrero, Azucar
Ate at Bula Bula ..that is a find...
Our ride home was eventful with a Joan Rivers sighting at the airport in Liberia (see TMZ.com today for news on that) and a security breach in Newark that closed the airport for hours..most of us (except for Phili Paul) landed at 2am in Newark.and got our bags around 3am.. (oh yes, and a woman who lit up a cigarette on the plan..who does that!)
So many more highlights but I wanted to make sure you guys know that we appreciate all we did..I'm sure we forgot some stuff (camera charger for one)...can we pick it up in a few months!!!!

Hi Becky,
Just a quick note to say thank you for all of your help and wonderful suggestions for our trip to Costa Rica. We had an amazing time at Casa Thu and the trip was truly perfect. We really appreciate all of your help. Jenny and Kevin were so helpful throughout our entire stay with restaurant suggestions and extending our reservation time and time again.
We hope to be back soon and will definitely recommend your services to our friends.
All the best, |

"Finally
starting to get back into normal routine. Wanted
to thank you again for the accommodations and
hospitality. We loved the house and... enjoyed
every minute of our vacation. If you ever have
any clients that would like to hear from previous
renters, please feel free to use me as a reference.
We will highly recommend the Casa Las Brisas
house to any of our friends". Best regards. |

Hi Becky,
... We are glad to be home, although it is FREEZING
here! We are missing the beach, our beautiful
view, and the peacefulness of Costa Rica. What
a beautiful country! I can easily understand
why you have relocated there. Our trip was wonderful
for many reasons.
Thank you so much for placing us at Casa Margarita
- a gem of a house! It met our every need. The
drive up, is quite a challenge, but once at
the top, there is nothing quite like it! Please
let Kevin know that we really enjoyed our ATV/Zipline
adventure.
What a way to spend my birthday!! All in all
it was a great vacation!!
Should we return to Costa Rica, we will be sure
to rent from you again! Thanks again for your
wonderful service. Best regards, |
| Sarah |
"I
just wanted to touch base and thank you and
Kevin for a great month! The house was wonderful
and you were wonderful as well. We will recommend
you to anyone we know that might want to visit
Costa Rica." |

"The property and surrounding area was wonderful and we felt very much at home. It was beautiful, safe, and super comfortable. The owners live nearby and were great at anything we requested. They were able to arrange tours, transportation, and just about any service you could require. Very friendly!!! The home was immaculate and included full maid service midweek. The housekeepers even did my personal laundry that I had left in the laundry room. Each employee was beyond friendly and helpful!!! I would recommend this property to family and friends.
The area is great and convenient to several beaches and restaurants. We enjoyed nearby spa services, a visit to the volcano Rincon de la Vieja and Tizrate Wellness Gardens for horseback riding, ziplining, and hot springs. So beautiful!!! We found the Tizrate tour through Anywhere Costa Rica tours and could not have been more pleased with the all-inclusive package for the day. The food was fresh, plentiful, and wonderful and the bar service was included and the staff made our family anything we could dream up.
There is also a full service spa but you have to request the services at the time of booking so they have the staff on duty the day of your tour. Imaginge a couples massage in an open cabina with candles and flowers overlooking the hot springs as you listen to the birds chirp and look out over the beautiful, lush green hillsides. This is the atmosphere at Tizrate, a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation!!! We could not have been more pleased with the house, the staff, the tours, nothing!! It is truly a magical place!" |
