Guanacaste, Costa Rica Tours & Adventure
With such a dizzying array of tours and adventures available, choosing how to spend your time can be a daunting task. At Special Places of Costa Rica, we have a couple of strategies that make it super easy for our guests to plan the perfect activity for their group.
First, we eliminate dozens of repetitive options and lesser-quality tours by partnering exclusively with trusted local tour and adventure operators. All of the companies we work with have high ratings and get consistently good reviews from our guests.Â
Second, we are experts at recommending the perfect options based on your group’s interests and abilities. For example, families with small children might not be able to go whitewater rafting, but they can enjoy a full day in the water on a catamaran and snorkeling adventure.Â
How to Pick the Right Tour or Adventure for Your Group
- Start by setting out the basic parameters: what are the ages of everyone in the group that will be going on the tour? Does anyone have any injuries or other physical limitations?
- Now, consider how thrilling an experience your group would like to have. Are they up for defying gravity; braving the elements, and elevating their heart rates? Or, would they be happier experiencing Costa Rica at a slower pace, perhaps with a beverage in hand?
- Lastly, what kind of things do they most want to see during their stay? Are they more interested in the rainforest or a sunset at the beach? Marine life or howler monkeys?
Once you can answer the above questions for your group, our staff at Special Places of Costa Rica will know exactly which tours, adventures, and Costa Rica rentals your group will love! From soaking in volcanic hot springs to ziplining; from surf lessons to ATV tours — there is an adventure for everyone in Costa Rica.Â

My husband and children visited the Fortuna Waterfall near the Arenal Volcano last month. The park is so lovely and very nicely maintained. The star of the show is magical falls itself though – you are close enough to feel the power of this thundering cascade as it plunges 75 meters right in front of you! Bring your camera and your swimsuit for you can swim in the pools at the bottom of the falls. This is definitely a “must see” for anyone visiting Costa Rica.
