• The dry season, (December to April) is the ideal time of the year to visit, but, it is also the peak season, so expect to see crowds.
• Just beyond the park entrance, there are a number of resident-run parking lots. A car’s parking costs 2000 CRC.
• There are no public transportation stops at the park entrance, therefore renting a car, or booking a tour is highly recommended.
• The national park is devoid of amenities. The park ticket office located outside has the only restroom, so make sure you use it before starting your hike.
• Pets and strollers are not permitted within the national park.
• Passports must be shown by visitors; a phone photo of the passport ID page may be used instead.
• Pack essential items like proper hiking boots/shoes (ankle-supporting, blister-preventing with good grip shoes, flip-flops won’t cut it here), rain gear, sunblock, mosquito repellant, and a full reusable water bottle as single-use plastics are prohibited in the national park.
• Bring plenty of water and snacks to fuel your adventure. Pack some lightweight, energy-boosting snacks like granola bars, and trail mix. 
• Don’t forget your trusty camera or cell phone! Snap away at the stunning blue hues of the waterfall and the abundant flora and fauna surrounding it.
• Keep an eye out for trail markers, they’re like little signposts guiding you to your destination, you do not want to take a wrong turn in the middle of the jungle. Don’t go off exploring in the forbidden areas or trespassing the park limits.
• Respect the environment. Leave only footprints and take only pictures.
• Last, but certainly not least, bring a first aid kit. Accidents happen, even in the midst of paradise. Be prepared for minor cuts, blisters, and insect bites. Pack some band-aids, antiseptic wipes, painkillers, and any additional personal medications you might need. It’s always better to be safe than sorry.
