The open concept main floor looks out through two large sliding-glass doors onto the walled private yard and pool.
Right by the front door there is a convenient closet and powder room. Enjoy cooking meals in the well-equipped kitchen, with granite counters and stainless-steel appliances. Or cook by the pool with the gas barbecue and smoker.
Eat inside at the custom guanacaste dining table or al fresco at the matching table on the covered terrace.
No need to overpack; there is a washer and dryer in the garage for your convenience. That’s also where you’ll find some beach chairs, umbrellas and boogie boards.
On the second floor, each of the three bedrooms is equipped with its own air conditioner and ceiling fan, plus lots of closet space. They come with a king bed, a queen bed and two twin beds.
The master and queen bedroom have flatscreen TVs and private balconies. And the master bedroom enjoys a private en-suite bathroom.
The property is completely walled for privacy and security. The front gate and garage door open with remote controls.
Surfside, as you might guess from the English name, is not a formally recognized Costa Rican jurisdiction. Surfside is basically an expat community on the southern outskirts of the traditional village of Potrero.
Yet Surfside has exploded in popularity among people from other countries, far eclipsing Potrero in the number of hotels, restaurants, bars, vacation rentals, shops, tour agencies and other attractions popular with visitors and expats.
From the security of your walled home at Casa Roja, it’s a short walk to a main drag in Surfside, featuring all of the above. Perlas Bar is probably the most popular restaurant and nightlife spot in town, though it has plenty of competition. Three blocks away, the Costa Rica Sailing Center is also a favorite beachfront spot, with a restaurant, bar, swimming pool and sailboat rentals.

We welcome your furry friends at our property! Before you book, each pet must be verified and approved based on breed and size (max 35 lbs.), accompanied by a recent photo. A refundable pet fee of $200 per stay, along with an additional cleaning fee of $50 + 13% per pet, is required to ensure our home remains pristine for all guests. We allow up to two pets per reservation. Pets must be kept on a leash at all times in public areas within the property grounds. Certain properties and complexes may have specific rules and registration requirements. Pets need to be verified at least 24 hours prior to check-in. If guests arrive at check-in with unverified pets, access to the property will be denied.
